Remember me

An offer too good to resist

You could reserve a home for $10 in those days, and we happened to have $10 between the two of us in our pockets," Estelle Cummings recalled. "Eighteen months later, we made a lot of money when we sold it and moved to a single-family home Wiseman-Hughes built in the Knolls of Briarcliff in Wheaton."

The couple later enjoyed another Briarcliff home built by Wiseman-Hughes and is now anticipating a move to Mirador, the company's custom home community in North Aurora.

"Fate brought us back to Wiseman-Hughes," Estelle said. "Their homes have been problem free and they are doing an excellent job on our newest home."

"These homes had more detail and were more custom than we expected from Wiseman-Hughes. We waited for the models to be built, saw them and fell in love. It was just meant to be." Estelle said.

The couple began their new home search last December. After visiting several other upscale communities, they ultimately chose Mirador's popular Merrywood model, which was voted "Best Model" and "People's Choice Award" winner at the 2002 Cavalcade of Homes.

Slightly revised versions of the Merrywood, with its innovative five levels of living space, are available at other Wiseman-Hughes communities. The home has five bedrooms, 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 baths and two to three-car garage.

Wiseman-Hughes buyers can choose from many structural design options to individualize their new home. Whether it is an all season room, 5th bedroom, or the addition of a second master bedroom on the 1st floor -- Wiseman-Hughes floor plans are up to the task!
